January 18th 2010

Dear Customer,

hoping that you have started a happy new year, the maintech and SR-Systems team wants to inform you that we have started a regularly coming newsletter. We will provide you with information about software updates, about new hardware and with documentation for your boards.

If you do not wish to receive this newsletter from now on, please send an email to info@maintech.de with the text "unsubscribe newsletter" in the subject line. Otherwise, we will be glad to support you and are looking forward to your feedback.

For now, we're getting started with some documentation news:

CONTENTS

  1. Documentation
  2. New MidiMux Firmware V6.5
  3. Imprint & Contact

1. DOCUMENTATION

About Bitrates - useful information about bitrate calculations for transport streams on SPI and ASI media

http://www.maintech.de/fileadmin/Datasheets/Bitrates.pdf

Cable Guide - you should always have this handy when working with our hardware: a brief explanation of the various cable types you need to connect the boards

http://www.maintech.de/fileadmin/Datasheets/Cable-Guide_v1_en-1.pdf

2. NEW MIDIMUX FIRMWARE V6.5

The latest firmware release for the MidiMux Multiplexer gives you the ability to control MPEG encoders with Teletext inserter boards on all four inputs. All encoder parameters can be changed from the MidiMux menu (LCD display/keypad or console). PSI tables for all encoders including the Teletext stream are generated automatically in the MidiMux, too.

A multichannel encoder with one or more Teletext enabled services can be built easily with this new software. If you wish to get this firmware update, please send an email to info@maintech.de. Furthermore, we are currently working on a solution for in-field upgrading of the MidiMux firmware. This will be available soon.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

With kindest regards, your maintech and SR-Systems team

P.S.: Did you know? You can control a MiniMod from the menu of a MiniMux or MidiMux. The MiniMod's modulation settings just appear in the Multiplexer's menu when the MiniMod is connected to the TS output of a MidiMux/MiniMux.
