DVB-T Coverage Analysis

Having built up a terrestrial DVB-T transmitter, one has to find out if the simulated footprint of the location planning is consistent with the real one or if there is a need for more sector antennae, etc.
A solution for that question is the standalone measurement system: After driving along the relevant reception area, the data is stored and available for offline search for gaps and dropouts.
Apart from the connection to up to four DibCom 3000MC DVB-T tuners in diversity or single-ended mode, it is also possible to integrate additionally a Will'Tek 9102 or a R&S FSH-3 spectrum analyzer to search for e.g. interfering signals or similar problems. Diversity operating is possible for a number of configurations.

Measuring and Recording of the Signal Quality

  • Autonomous and standalone analyzer unit

Analysis Software

The acquisition box is accompanied by processing software with the following features:

  • Live monitoring of the measured data from a connected measurement box
  • Visualization on streetmaps and satellite images that are available on the internet
  • Combination of several measurement data sets is possible
  • Simultaneous representation of a number of measured variables as different dot sizes, colours, shapes etc. or directly as bargraphs
  • Computation of a 2D distribution function with interpolation
  • Multiple filter criteria to reduce the visualized data set
  • Analysis settings can be stored in profiles for quick access
  • Extraction of discrete frequencies from the recorded spectra
  • Printing functions for map and plots
